The famous poet Robert Browning once wrote "Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one less traveled by. And that made all the difference". Many a time we may also have taken such significant decisions that changed the course of our lives. Some might have worked and some failed. But if we weigh the pros and cons, we will realize that all these vital life experiences have definitely made us better, in every perspective. Success and failure are only protagonists in our mind. Real success depends on how we play with these characters.
A train journey is often an enjoyable experience. As the train snakes its way forward, we can see nature in its myriad form flashing past us. Stretches of greenery may brighten up our spirits and swathe of barrenness may push us to desolation. But the train chugs along to its destination irrespective of the display of events outside our window. Life is like that. It is not going to stop for us. Success and failures are ephemeral and we need to continue our journey like a silent spectator, unmoved by the course of events which we stumble upon. For direction, always look back and for inspiration always look ahead. The future is always bright and when we look towards it, it becomes even brighter.
The year 2010 has come to an end. It is time to leave our triumphs and tribulations behind and make a new beginning. Every time when Gavaskar used to cross the century mark, he takes fresh stand and assumes he is beginning his innings again at 'Zero'. It is time for us to take fresh stand and usher in the new year with all its eclectic surprises.
"What appears to be an ending leads to a new beginning and the secret to success is to have more beginnings than endings". As the New Year beckons us, let us resolve to give our best to achieve individual excellence. Let us see the new dawn in a whole new perspective. Let us join hands and work towards a glorified future. Let us make a New Beginning!
Wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous 2011.
