Behind every successful man, there is a woman. It still stands true but it no longer means that you should keep them always behind you. How a man boast and perceive his manliness to be? The present state of Indian so-called culture and it's law-makers, not the politicians but the society. This country is considered to be the largest democratic country but I would say it's a democracy which has a disclaimer, *Conditions apply.
A man rapes a woman. Who's the guilty? This always becomes a national issue.
But why do we even need to ask or raise this question? It is very simple. A woman is raped means she retaliated which makes it very obvious that it was an act against her will, whether she was in saree or in bikini.
Who doesn't want to look good, attractive and paid attention to? And if it is a woman, she would die for it. Beautiful dress, well done hair, shining shoes, glamorous bags, vivacious make-up, a 36-24-36 body. It's her wish, her desire and a reason for her to enjoy the life. What's wrong in it?
If you are a man, you would enjoy your way, biking, drinking, late night-outs, gym, flirting, looking smart and fit, fearlessly facing anyone that comes your way. But don't say the typical phrase- my way or highway.
Knowing how to treat a woman is a major thing that would show your manliness. Comforting her, both physically and mentally, is a real man's character. A man knows how to get his things done. If you can convince and persuade her for your desire, then also you are being a man.
We are in the 21st century, the whole world is one big family. Cultural exchange is the best thing to happen. Being conservative doesn't mean that yours is the best and others are diluting yours. It is not the time to defend yourself all the time.
Stop blaming the society, it's you and me who constitutes the society. So today if you change yourself, tomorrow you'll see a modernised and more civilised society. Respect for each other not intimidating the other and discomforting in your presence would be the only solution to this present-society full of conflicts.
