Bianna Golodryga was born in the Soviet Union, in what is presently known as the Republic of Moldova. Her parents decided to settle in the Galveston, Texas area, and Bianna Golodryga eventually enrolled at Houston's renowned High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, an honor she shares with Beyonce, among others. Bianna Golodryga attended college at the University of Texas in Austin, where she majored in Eastern European and Eurasian Studies, with a minor in economics. Before her career in television, Bianna Golodryga worked in the financial services industry. In 2004 she was honored as one of the nation's top journalists under the age of 30.
