It is impossible to go a day without reading or hearing about how much the United States owes the rest of the world in terms of money. I have heard these discussions for hours and they do make a lot of sense. There is just no way that you could run a bank the way the politicians run the country without going bankrupt. There is not one business model available that allows you to get away with working with other people's money, while not producing enough of your own, or spending recklessly. When this is done in a home it is called irresponsible and reckless, the end result is bankruptcy. On a family level you lose your home, the car, and credit. If you have something hidden away and they find it, it is confiscated to pay off some of your debt.
The experts on this subject can tell you what the fall out will be once the chickens come home to roost as they like to say. What they expect is a worldwide economic crisis the likes of which we have never seen. If their forecast is true, then it would be worse than the first depression in the twenties and far worse than the last recession a few years back. There would be endless lines of jobless people, along with millions of homeless in the streets without food or shelter, which is enough to give you nightmares. The price of homes would fall to an all-time low and foreclosures would be in the millions once again. Car dealerships would remain filled with cars and automotive manufacturing would suffer its biggest blow.
For bible believing nations of the west, which have the largest share of Christian believers, it will be worse. God has spelled out in his word how we are to behave, and the consequences to follow, if we do not change direction. He too will take into account how you have squandered his resources and the time he has given you to live out your life. The same way that a nation, business, or home is run into the ground and only has so much time before collapsing, so a life one day comes to a screeching halt under Gods mighty judgment. He too will want to know why you kept on living in sin, and why you lost all fear of him as if the world counted but he didn't.
Only a fool could believe that you could go on living day to day, borrowing and using what is not yours and not pay the consequences. And yet that is what most of the world is doing. They can believe that the banks will one day take their car or house or even their jewelry, but will not believe that God will also take them into account for not doing his will and changing their ways. The people fear their bosses, the banks and the government, but not God who is to be feared above all else. What is coming upon mankind because of his greed and callousness will make the heart of even the strongest tremble and melt under the mighty hand of God.
The world will not be coming to an end as many like to think, and the church is not going to be raptured yet as other would like to think. But God is about to bring some real nasty things upon the human race which thinks it is much smarter than God. After these major catastrophes God will once again restore what he has destroyed and bring order to the world. Only those who know the Lord Jesus and have obeyed the gospel will be spared the pain coming on the earth.
David Wilkerson who I consider to be a true servant of God spent his entire life warning people of the consequences of disobeying God. In his sermons and in his newsletters he continually warned this country of the pending disaster which was coming because of the selfishness and idolatry which had taken over the world. That was over twenty five years ago and he went to be with the Lord without seeing much of what he had described happen. Years ago when I read his newsletters I sometimes thought that he was going too far, now as I look around I realize that he had not gone far enough.
All of this came about as I was sitting on my sofa thinking about some of the things he had written and wondering if I was seeing conspiracies everywhere and maybe I should not be thinking this way. Then I put on the TV and heard a preacher say the same thing I had just thought of, that something really bad was about to shake this world we live in. It was not even part of the message; he just said it and then went back to the original message. It shook me to the core and an hour later while I was napping I heard the Father say, "tell the people." After that, scriptures started coming to my mind one after another, here are some.
Peter 1:17, for it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner? NIV
Galatians 6:7, do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. NIV
John 3:19-20, this is the verdict: light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. NIV
