The beaches are pristine and that makes it very inviting.

The Elephant orphanage:

This is probably one of its kinds in the whole world. This is the largest herd of captive elephants that are held here because of the various injuries to some of the elephants. There are many tourists who visit this place. You can touch the elephants and also take pictures of these animals. The orphanage for these elephants is located in Pinnawela, a lace that is present about 80 kilometers from Colombo.

Heritage sites:

There are many world heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Some of these are the City of Anuradhapura that is considered to be sacred. This has many monasteries and is a place where the fig tree where Buddha got enlightenment is planted. The jungles that surround the place also have many palaces and other structures that are very famous.

The ancient cities of Polonnaruwa and the ancient city of Sigriya are also some of the very important heritage sites that are present in the country. Some parts of these cities are in ruins, but the amazing place is still beautiful.

Wildlife in Sri Lanka

The country is also home to some of the amazing animals other than the regular animals that can be seen all over the world. The country has a few national parks where you will be able to watch these animals in their natural habitats. The Yala national park and the Gal Oya National Park are two of the better known parks. Other than them, the Uda Walawe national park, the Wasgamuwa park and the Horton Plains national park are full of various kinds of animals that enthrall the tourists.
