Stealing In Islam
Islam does not permit stealing in any form. The rules prescribed by Almighty Allah are severe and would act as a sample for people who would admire it. There are many reasons why a person commits robbery the two main reasons would be either poverty and second would be to earn money by shortcut ways to satisfy our luxurious needs. Sometimes the circumstances become so worse that a person thinks of doing any wanted or unwanted things to satisfy his family needs, and once he or she is successful in few attempts than he or she tends to experiments in bigger way whereby they never hesitate to cross the limits. Islam says to love and care for the poor but we wealthy people just hoard the wealth by not giving proper Zakat to the poor and needy people which would at least reduce the somewhat burden of such acts. It does not mean that stealing or robbery is only done by any one community. Stealing has no religion and their sole intension is to satisfy needs by every fair and foul means. Islam does not like any form of robbery or stealing and if the culprit is found than he or she should be punished in front of the people so that the people should know him or her why he or she has been punished. Similarly it would act as a lesson for the others and people would always remember that the consequences of stealing are very severe and one has to lose his or her body parts for whole life as long as he or she is alive. People in the adjoining area would also fear to think of doing such work or repeat it again. Islam's teaching is practical and it gives equal distribution in terms of mercy and punishment. Even if any noted or famous person is found of any guilt or allegations than even he or she would be brought to trail, we do not have long pending petitions in court to keep on moving like snail's speed. But in Islam decisions are to be given as soon as possible no delay in any case. The decisions would be according to Quarn and Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (Peace And Blessings Upon Him). If rules are not strict and lacks on implementation grounds than it is of no use. We could not control crime by writing rules on paper its real happiness lies in implementation. Look at Islamic countries that follow Islamic laws to tackle robbery and stealing. The percentage of crime has slow down as compared to non-Islamic nations that do not follow Islamic laws
Quran says that
Quran says "Cut off (from the wrist joint) the (right) hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allah. And Allah is All-Powerful, All-Wise. [5/38].
Quran didn't stop there, it continues "But whosoever repents after his crime and does righteous good deeds (by obeying Allah), then verily, Allah will pardon him (accept his repentance). Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. " [5/39]
