As I watched the drama unfolding on the nightly news concerning the newest shooting spree and subsequent death of over twenty seven people, I asked myself if it could happen here where I live. And then I answered myself and said "no, this could not happen here, because I spend many hours praying for this community where I live." After I answered myself, I realized that I had come upon something which few people had dared to speak about, the lack of community prayers to stop something like this from happening.

Then I thought about all the other towns and cities which have had similar shootings, such as the Oregon Mall shooting and the Aurora movie shooting and asked myself if this to could have been avoided, and the answer I believe is "yes," all of this could have been avoided. But if you read the papers or Google up the shootings, it is always the same thing. This person had some type of dysfunction or just did not fit in. Or those guns were the problem, but the truth is that they the shooters are also the victims, but this time from an evil realm.

I don't know what bible people read, but all the versions I have read speak about a spiritual war going on in the heavens and also on earth. Ephesians 6:10-13 finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. NIV

Religion will not stop Satan, being good and not missing church or giving to the poor does nothing to stop him, and whether you are Catholic or Protestant has no effect on him. He is still a killer, a thief, and destroyer of all that is good. Sure the shooter can say no to the impulses and thoughts he is receiving from Satan, and deserves to be punished for his crime. But this does not stop the rampage because the true killer is still on the loose.

Who he uses is not important because there are millions waiting to be used for something like this. While the people look at the human who did this heinous crime, blaming him first and then the guns that were used, they have missed the point. It is not the guns or the dysfunctional person he chose as his host, but Satan himself who is the killer. His mission on earth is to destroy anything beautiful and good and by so doing destroy the fabric of the family by taking their joy and peace.

Another question which I ask myself is how can people read the bible and not believe that demons are a real threat to their families and friends. Just because you believe that no harm can come to you from the spiritual realm does not mean that it won't. It is not enough to say a quick prayer for your family at night or during the day. If you do this you are just inviting disaster. If you pray this type of prayer, Satan can both see you and hear you and he knows how you live your life, then he will challenge you to see if you really have faith and believe in God.

A family or community that is not guarded by prayer is up for grabs from the powers of darkness. And they are not coming to have lunch with you and later take in a movie. They are coming to destroy you and your love ones. Satan's only joy is in seeing you miserable and in tears. First he kills whatever you love and then he will steal your happiness and joy. The end result will be your lack of joy and peace which will in time become some type of demon possession in itself.
There is nothing new in all this, it has been going on since time began and it will keep on going on for all eternity or until the Father puts Satan under Jesus feet. But we have not been left without weapons to fight this thing. God has provided prayer and bible faith for those who believe and choose to show up for the battle. This is what the whole God thing is about that yes there is God, but their also is an evil spirit who runs the evil world and his only plan in life is to kill as many man, woman, and children as possible.

To the unsuspecting world this all seems like nonsense and yet they sit around wondering if the end of the world is getting close with all these mass killings. Both mothers and father spend countless hours crying their hearts out and waiting for the day when the killer may be executed so they can see some type of justice done. This will also show them that life is not so crazy, but that there is some type of normality around the corner. What they fail to realize is that the real culprit is some demon spirit and he has gotten away free to do the same thing somewhere else. Even to unbelievers it must seem that something is not right when boys or men who are not that far out can commit such tragic acts.

You could lock up ten or you could lock up a hundred or even thousands but the real perpetrators will always be free because they are spirit beings which are subject only to the laws of God or Satan. They are the guilty ones but they cannot be arrested and punished by men. But they can be arrested and punished by God Almighty who created them in the first place. I have had demons do bad things to me and I have reported them to the Lord in prayer. In dreams he has always shown me that they were severely punished. But this has been after the fact. The best way is to not let it happen at all.

2Corinthians 10:3-5, For though we live in the world we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. NIV The divine power the apostle Paul is speaking about here is reading and quoting the word of God, and prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

We do this by reading the bible which is the word of God first and foremost, than we must have a daily time of prayer for our loved ones and our community. The prayers for the community should include prayers for the mayor and city consul along with the police department and fire department. All of the schools in the cities should be prayed for one at a time using their names. I try to cover the streets in my neighbor also by name doing the Avenues first then the streets and later the parks. I also say prayers for most of the business in town and all together I can do all this in twenty to thirty minutes.

The prayers are bible based prayers of faith, believing God for his promises and protection. This creates a web of prayer all around the city or town which forbids the demons from acting up and slaughtering people. It will not stop all crime because most people are prone to sinning even when it is not demonic. But it will stop the senseless shooting of men, women and the children who are innocent and have not yet learned to do evil. If we do our part God will do his part because he said to ask and you would receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door would be opened.

Jesus also gave us a promise in Matthew 16:17-19, Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it, I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. You can bind that spirit of murder and mayhem in your community and loose a spirit of faith and peace. This is not a onetime deal but something that must be repeated as often as you see its ugly head in your neighborhood.
